Dear 2022

The saying the days are long but the years are short is true. As 2022 comes to an end, I think it is important to reflect on everything that it was and wasn’t. It’s hard to believe that it is time to welcome another year and put 2022 in the rearview mirror. I hope that 2022 brought you many laughs and joys. I hope you found peace in the darkest times and feel optimistic about what is to come. 2022 is a year I’ll never forget as it was the year Riverbanks Counseling became a reality and I’ve been able to come alongside so many amazing people in their journeys. It’s truly an honor to be a part of my client’s lives even if its just for an hour a week.

As we say goodbye to 2022, I thought it would be interesting to see what your letter to 2022 would say. I provided a template below and would love to hear your thoughts on the year.

Dear 2022,

It’s hard to believe you are almost over. You were full of (fill in blank) and (fill in blank). You started off (fill in blank) and are ending (fill in blank). I can’t believe your already (almost) over. The saying the days are long but the years are short is so true.

This year taught me (fill in blank). I’ve learned to (fill in blank). My favorite part of the year was (fill in blank). I laughed so hard when (fill in the blank). This year I was most thankful for (fill in the blank).

This year I let go of (fill in the blank). It felt (fill in the blank). I cried when (fill in the blank) and felt my lowest when (fill in the blank). But the tears dried up and I became stronger because of it. (Fill in the blank) helped me get through the low times. I am thankful for the lows because it taught me to (fill in the blank). (If you are still at your lowest point, I would encourage you to write about what you hope for in the new year). The biggest thing I learned about myself is (fill in the blank). I’m ready for what’s next.

So 2022, as we say goodbye to you, I’m going into 2023 believing (fill in the blank) and hoping for (fill in the blank). Thanks for the memories and lessons. Bring on 2023!

Love,

(fill in the blank)
